Eduard Rabensteiner the Elder Rottmann Viennese dance master

 (July 24, 1839 in Vienna; † April 23, 1905)

Rabensteiner received a training as a stage dancer from his father and the pantomime masters Karl Schadetzky and Johann Brinke, but became an office clerk. 1855 he took over from his father the dance school and at the request of Johann Strauss son attended the dance arrangements on the balls he conducted. Rabensteiner was also friends with Karl Komzak. He was considered the leading dance arranger of Vienna of his time and also taught at various military institutions.
